Court Services

Deputies are assigned to Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court. It is their responsibility to bring prisoners from the jail into the courtroom for jury trials, pleas, bond hearings, extradition hearings, psychiatric hearings, and revocations hearings. Court Service deputies maintain security in the courtrooms and are responsible for the paperwork generated by the legal proceedings on the prisoners. One sergeant is assigned to Municipal Court as a liaison officer and represents the Sheriff's Office on all cases. Personnel assigned consist of (1) Lieutenant, (4) Sergeants, (1) Corporal, (48) Deputies at full staffing levels.


Deputies assigned to Transportation are responsible for the transporting of newly sentenced prisoners to State Institutions to begin their sentences. They also transport prisoners from state institutions, other County Jails, State Hospitals, and Youth Camps to the Franklin County Corrections Center for Court appearances.
