The Fugitive Squad is responsible for arresting suspects on outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrents issued in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court, Franklin County Municipal Court, Franklin County Probate Court, as well as warrant requests from law enforcement agencies nationwide.
During the past several years, the Fugitive Squad in cooperation with the United States Marshals Service joined together with various central Ohio law enforcement agencies and created Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST). These units and agencies assist each other on a daily basis tracking down a wide variety of violent and non-violent wanted suspects.
The Fugitive Squad also works closely with both County/City Prosecutor's Office and Victims Advocates as part of the Violence Against Women's Act (VAWA) arresting Domestic Violence wanted suspects. In additon, all deputies assigned to the Fugitive Squad have received their Critical Incident Training (CIT) and work closely with Franklin County Probate Court transfering persons to various facilities, i.e. Netcare, once a Probate Court order has been ussued. Finally, deputies are responsible for picking up out of County and out of State prisoners, returning the safely to Franklin County. During the calendar year of 2009, deputies drove over 72,000 miles and traveled via airplane over 140,000 miles for prisoner extraditions.

Child Support Enforcement Unit
The Child Support Enforcement Unit of the Sheriff's Office is responsible for arresting suspects wanted on outstanding warrants issued in Franlin County Common Pleas Court, Juvenile Court, Domestic Relations Court, as well as warrant requests from law enforcement agencies nationwide.
Personel assignment within the Child Support Unit currently consist of 2 full-time deputies and 1 part-time clerical specialist which coordinate Felony, Domestic, and Juvenile warrants. Deputies assigned to this unit work closely with Franklin County's Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA), the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, and the Sheriff's Office Fugitive Squad . And finally, thse 2 deputies are responsible for picking up out of County and out of State prisoners returning then safely to Franklin County.
