The Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy is an opportunity for citizens to gain insight into the daily functions and responsibilities of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Our goal is to provide familiarization of procedures, guidelines, responsibilities, demands, policies and laws that guide the decisions and behavior of our deputies.
One session will be conducted for the calendar year 2024, from September to December. There will no be class the week of Thanksgiving and graduation will be the beginning of December. Attendance is mandatory for graduation. You must be at least 18 years of age in order to apply. Seats are limited. All applicants are required to submit to a background check.
As a continued effort in building more cohesive relationships between law enforcement officers and the community, our graduates have the opportunity to attend community events and DUI Taskforce Checkpoints alongside our deputies.
