Outside the State of Ohio

Out-of-state agencies requesting service in Franklin County, Ohio, must understand the following:

  • Our office requires a $15.00 fee (per person, per address, per case number) to accompany the service request.
    • The $15.00 fee must be paid in the form of a cashier's check or money order. We do not accept attorney, trust fund, personal, or business checks. We do accept checks from other county, state, or federal agencies.
  • We require two sets of papers be provided: the service copy and an additional copy that will be returned to you.
  • Please provide us with a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request for service.
  • Please ensure the address is located inside Franklin County.
    • Note: Not all zip codes we serve are entirely within Franklin County. Verify the address on the Franklin County Auditor website. If the address is not found on their website, please verify with MapQuest or Bing Maps, as they show the county lines.
  • If you are serving a corporation, please contact us to confirm we can serve the corporation.
  • We do not accept court documents faxed to our office unless they are civil protection orders or stalking protection orders. All other court documents must be mailed to us.

Inside the State of Ohio

If you are requesting service and you are within the State of Ohio, please understand the following:

  • After we are finished with your court documents, a Return of Service invoice will be sent to you with the fees owed.

Our office only handles evictions on foreclosure properties sold at auction by our Real Estate Division. For rental evictions, please contact the Franklin County Municipal Court at (614) 645-7780.
