Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal injury traffic crash that occurred at approximately 5:51 am on 04/23/26. A black 2015 Acura TLX was eastbound on Havens Corners Rd at N. Waggoner Rd. A black 2015 Honda Pilot was northbound on N. Waggoner Rd. at Havens Corners Rd. The Honda Struck the Acura in the intersection of Havens Corners Rd. and N. Waggoner Rd. Deputies from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and fire and medics from Jefferson Township responded to the scene. The Honda and Acura both went off the northwest side of the intersection. The Acura struck a power pole and broke it. The pole then fell on top of the Honda with live power wires. AEP responded and shut off the power lines. The driver and only occupant of the Acura was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in stable condition. The driver and only occupant of the Honda was pronounced deceased on scene by Jefferson Township Medic 141 at 6:55 am.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
