Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a critical injury traffic crash that occurred at approximately 10:30 pm on 8/16/2026. A black 2014 Chevy Malibu broke down blocking the right northbound lane of Alum Creek Dr. at IR270. A black 1986 Chevy Caprice was traveling northbound on Alum Creek Dr. While traveling north the Caprice struck an adult male in the roadway. Deputies from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Officers from Obetz Police Department, and EMS/Fire from Hamilton Township responded to the scene. The driver of the Caprice stayed on scene and the driver was not injured. The pedestrian who was the driver of the Malibu was transported to Grant Hospital in Critical Condition by Hamilton Twp Medic 171. The passenger in the Malibu was uninjured.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
