Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal injury traffic crash that occurred at approximately 3:33pm on 08/06/26. A black 2017 Cadillac ATS was driving north on Alkire Rd. A brown 2010 Toyota Venza was southbound on Alkire Rd. The 2 vehicles collided in the center of the roadway in front of 6337 Alkire Rd. Deputies from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, fire and medics from Prairie and Pleasant Townships responded to the scene. The driver and only occupant of the Cadillac was transported in critical condition to Riverside Hospital by Prairie Medic 243. The driver and only occupant of the Toyota was transported to Doctors West Hospital in critical condition by Pleasant Medic 231. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased by Doctors West Hospital staff at 4:29 pm. The driver of the Cadillac is still critical and roadway is still closed for clean up at the time of this press release. It is unknown which vehicle crossed into the other vehicles lane at this time.
