Tip Leads to Drug Seizure in North Columbus
A tip received by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) led to an investigation that resulted in the seizure of felony amounts of cocaine, a firearm, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in suspected drug proceeds.
The investigation began in June of 2026 when a Franklin County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Task Force Officer (TFO) assigned to the Specialized Tactics & Investigative Narcotics Group (STING) received information that multiple individuals were trafficking narcotics from a residence in the 1300 block of E. 25th Avenue in Columbus.
As the investigation progressed, FCSO SIU detectives identified two individuals believed to be the primary source of narcotics being distributed from the residence.
On July 31, 2026, FCSO SIU detectives executed three residential narcotics search warrants connected to the investigation. During the searches, detectives seized felony quantities of cocaine, one firearm, and approximately $862,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Criminal charges related to the investigation are pending against the individuals involved as the investigation continues.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that information provided by community members is often the first step in removing dangerous drugs from neighborhoods and bringing offenders to justice.
Anyone with information regarding suspected drug activity is encouraged to contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit at 614-525-3318. Callers may remain anonymous.
