05-20 Fatal Injury Crash

Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal injury crash that occurred at approximately 1:48 am on IR270S one half mile south of Tuttle Crossing, in the City of Dublin, Washington Township, Franklin County, Ohio. A blue 2006 Volvo VNL semi-truck was traveling south on IR270 and slowing down for stopped traffic ahead. A dark blue 2013 Toyota Camry, also traveling south on IR270, struck them in the rear. The driver of the Volvo, and sole occupant, was not injured. The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota was transported to Ohio State University Hospital by Washington Township Medic 95 in critical condition, where they were then pronounced deceased at 3:43 am by OSU Hospital staff. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and fire personnel from Washington Township responded to the scene. Identity of the driver of the Toyota is being withheld until family is notified.
