On Monday, August 10, 2026, at approximately 7:26 a.m., Franklin County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of two vehicles struck by gunfire on Interstate 71 South near the Interstate 270 interchange and Stringtown Road in Grove City.
Investigators learned that an unknown suspect reportedly fired multiple rounds from a moving vehicle, striking two vehicles traveling southbound on I-71.
One of the victims reported seeing a dark gray or dark-colored SUV swerve onto the I-270 interchange at a high rate of speed. Investigators believe the SUV may be related to the incident; however, no further description of the suspect vehicle or a license plate is currently available.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Detectives with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office are actively investigating the incident. Investigators are reviewing surveillance videos from businesses and other locations in the surrounding area and are working to gather additional information that may help identify the suspect.
