Drug Seizure
In December of 2019, detectives with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit began a narcotics investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in Columbus, Ohio, from Mexico.
On March 18, 2020, detectives identified the suspected couriers who intended to sell 14 pounds of methamphetamine in the central Ohio area. On March 19, 2020, detectives intercepted the suspected methamphetamine prior to its distribution. The suspects, Tiffany Avila (40) of Pico Rivera, California, and Omar Sesma-Degarte (39) of Chino Hills, California, were found in possession of the methamphetamine, which holds a street value of $725,700.
Detectives arrested and charged Avila and Sesma-Degarte, with Possession of Methamphetamine. Trafficking charges are also expected to be filled.
