Outside the state of Ohio

Court documents from out of state agencies needing to be served in Franklin County, Ohio must understand the following:

Our office requires a $15.00 fee (per person, per address, per case number) to accompany the request for service. The $15.00 fee needs to be in the form of a cashier's check or money order only. We will not accept attorney checks, trust fund checks, personal checks or business checks. However, we will accept a check from a county, state or federal agency.

  • We will need two sets of papers. The services copy and an additional copy that will be returned.
  • Please provide us with a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your request for service.
  • Please ensure that the address is inside Franklin County. Please note not all zip codes are inside Franklin County, but in surrounding counties. Please check on the Franklin County Auditor Website, if the address does not show please verify the address with MapQuest or Bing Maps which show the county lines.
  • If you are serving a corporation, please contact us to ensure we are able to service the corporation.
  • We do not accept court documents faxed to our office unless they are civil protection orders and stalking protection order, all other court documents must be mailed to us.

 

Inside the state of Ohio

From inside the state of Ohio with court documents needing to be served in Franklin County, Ohio please understand the following:

  • If you are serving a corporation, please contact us to ensure that we are able to service the corporation.

  • After we have finished with your court documents, a service return invoice will be sent to you with fees owed.

Our office only handles evictions ONLY on foreclosure homes sold at the Franklin County Sheriff Real Estate Sale. For rental evictions, please call the Franklin County Municipal Court Rental Evictions at (614) 645-7780.
