Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Fatal traffic crash which occurred today at approximately 7:04pm in the area of Clark State Rd and Headley Rd., located in Jefferson Township. A Silver 2007 BMW was being pursued by Gahanna Police for an active, recent Felony warrant against the driver. The driver lost control of the BMW turning off of Headley Rd onto Clark State Rd. The BMW left the roadway and struck a tree on the south side of Clark State Rd. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver was apprehended a short time later. The passenger of the Silver BMW was pronounced deceased on the scene by Jefferson Township Medics. Gahanna Police Officers were not injured or involved in the accident.
This incident remains under investigation.
