Fatal Traffic Crash - Harrisburg Pike north of Rosemont Avenue

Sheriff Dallas Baldwin states that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian traffic crash. The crash occurred on April 23rd, 2020 at approximately 12:58 a.m. on Harrisburg Pike, north of Rosemont Avenue in Franklin Township. Ms. Dina Wilkins, age 54 of Columbus, Ohio was operating a red 2006 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Harrisburg Pike. The Hyundai Sonata struck a pedestrian that was in the southbound lane of travel. Witnesses contacted 911 and Franklin Township Police and Fire departments responded to the scene along with deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at 1:08am by responding medics. The identity of the pedestrian is pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was not injured.

At this time alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in this crash. The crash is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit.

Update- The pedestrian that was struck and killed on April 23, 2020 at 12:58 a.m. was identified as Kody Dante Robinson, age 34 of Columbus, Ohio.
