Homicide Investigation - Chatterton Road

On Friday, April 17, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the Dollar General located at 5001 Chatterton Road in Truro Township.

The victim, identified as 28 year-old Jarrin Hickman, was shot numerous times and was transported to Mt. Carmel East Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, 19 year-old Qunicy Yelder, was shot once in the head and is currently being treated at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center.

Sheriff's Office Detectives investigating the case have arrested and charged 20 year-old Varmunyah Dunor with the murder of Jarrin Hickman. Dunor is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.

Detectives discovered that Jarrin Hickman allegedly shot Mr. Yelder while attempting to purchase marijuana from Yelder and Dunor. After the shooting incident, Varmunyah Dunor chased Jarrin Hickman through the parking lot where he shot him multiple times and then fled the scene.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office Detectives continue to investigate the case.
