It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of retired Franklin County Sheriff’s Office K9 Will. Wednesday evening, at 6:05 PM, K9 Will was peacefully laid to rest after recently falling ill.
For more than 8 years, K9 Will served the citizens of Franklin County with unwavering dedication as a dual-purpose narcotics detection and patrol dog. Alongside his partner, Sgt. Jeff Valentine, he assisted in countless operations, including narcotics detection, tracks, article searches, and building searches. Their impact extended beyond our community, even being featured on Season 3 of "Live PD."
K9 Will was not just a working dog—he was a trusted partner, a loyal companion, and a hero. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
Please keep Sgt. Valentine and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time. Rest easy, K9 Will. We have the watch from here.
