Be sure that the accident occurred within the Franklin County limits. You cannot file a report with the Franklin County Sheriff's office if the accident did not occur within Franklin County. We handle reports for accidents that occurred in the unincorporated areas of the county. If the accident occurred within a city, village or township with its own police department, you should file your accident report with that city, village or township directly. If you are not sure of the correct jurisdiction you may call the Franklin County Sheriff's office at 614-525-3333 for guidance.
