Outside the state of Ohio

Court documents from out of state agencies needing to be served in Franklin County, Ohio must understand the following:

  • Our office requires a $15.00 fee fee (per person, per address, per case number) to accompany the request for service. The $15.00 fee needs to be in the form of a cashier's check for money order only. We will not accept attorney checks, trust fund checks, personal checks, or business checks. However, we will accept a check from a county, state, or federal agency. 
  • We will need two sets of papers, the services copy and an additional copy that will be returned.
  • Please provide us with a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your request for service.
  • Please ensure that the address is inside Franklin County. Please note not all zip codes we serve are entirely inside Franklin County. Please check on the Franklin County Auditor Website and if the address does not show please verify the address with MapQuest or Bing Maps which show the county lines.
  • If you are serving a corporation, please contact us to ensure we are able to service the corporation.
  • We do not accept court documents faxed to our office unless they are civil protection orders and stalking protection orders. All other court documents must be mailed to us.

Inside the state of Ohio

Court documents from within the state of Ohio needing to be served in Franklin County, Ohio must understand the following:

  • We will need two sets of papers. The services copy and an additional copy that will be returned.
  • Please provide us with a stamped self-addressed envelope with your request for service.
  • Please ensure that the address is inside Franklin County. Please note not all zip codes are inside of Franklin County, but in surrounding counties. Please check on the Franklin County Auditor Website, if the address does not show please verify the address with MapQuest or Bing Maps which shows the county lines.
  • If you are serving a corporation, please contact us to ensure that we are able to service the corporation.
  • We do not accept court documents faxed to our office unless they are civil protection orders and stalking protection order.  All other court documents must be mailed to us.
  • After we have finished with your court documents, a service return invoice will be sent to you with fees owed.

Our office handles evictions ONLY on foreclosure homes sold at the Franklin County Sheriff Real Estate Sale. For rental evictions, please call the Franklin County Municipal Court Rental Evictions at (614) 645-7780.

If Red, White and Boom falls on a weekday, Office will close at 2P.M.

Day after Thanksgiving, Office will close at 2P.M.
