The Franklin County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Center operates 365 days a year. The Emergency Communications Center is responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls for the citizens of Franklin County, Ohio. Our Emergency Communications Center dispatches law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Franklin County, and the following Police Departments within Franklin County Obetz, Groveport, Minerva Park, Harrisburg, Valleyview, Franklin Twp, Madison Twp, Blendon Twp, Clinton Twp, Sharon Twp, Perry Twp, and Mifflin Twp.
With an authorized staff of 29 Communication Technicians, 6 Communication Technician Supervisors, 1 Electronic Technician, and 1 PSAP Manager; we work to provide fast and reliable access to emergency services. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center is committed to providing service to the diverse population that we serve, which we accomplish through training of the communication technicians and the use of different tools at our disposal. This includes the use of traditional 9-1-1 phone calls, Language Line, and text to 9-1-1 to name a few.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center strives to maintain the latest technology to carry out our mission. To meet that goal, we are complaint with all State of Ohio PSAP requirements; we use Enhanced 911, text to 9-1-1, RapidSOS, and GIS Mapping to help our communication technicians while they work to assist those who call our center.
