Yasmine Farah is a speaker, diversity/inclusion trainer, an advocate, and a spoken word artist.
Farah attended University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she majored in Journalism with a minor in English wrapped in a mission to tell the global stories of the many forgotten and isolated communities. She found many of those communities in the heart of America. Farah conducted diversity and inclusion trainings with an emphasis to New Americans and gender.
She moved to Central Ohio in 2016, where she has worked in the private and public sector as a teacher, mentor, case manager, community health worker and hosted trainings on culture, diversity, and inclusion as well as poetry. Yasmine believes Columbus is a city rich with resources however the citizens lack the knowledge to connect with what their city offers.
Currently Yasmine is the Somali Community Liaison with the Franklin County Sheriff’s office. Her role here is to close the gap between the Sheriff’s office and the community by creating a bridge of inclusion through education, awareness, and inclusion with a heavy side of patience. She is very passionate in advocating for all marginalized people. She considers herself as a global citizen.
Her values are integrity, honesty, and knowledge. On her free time, she writes poetry. She believes everyone is a genius if given a chance to do what they love.
Yasmine is a proud resident of the most progressive and artistic town of Clintonville.
